    1. Amazon: The square root of 148 is approximately 12.16, rounded up to 13 farms.
Caatinga: 20% of 12 equals 2.4, rounded up to 3 farms.
Cerrado: The square root of 741 is roughly 27.03, rounded up to 28 farms, with a cap of 25 for auditing.

    2. The ProTerra certification audit will first be conducted at the economic operator’s site. Following this initial assessment, audits will take place at all core suppliers selected through sampling, within a maximum period of 60 days. The certification decision will be finalized only after all sampled core suppliers have been verified, as outlined in section 6.5.

    3. In the upcoming audit cycle, it is mandatory to select core suppliers that have not yet been visited, ensuring a full cycle of assessments is completed. When planning an audit, the CB must always incorporate the main site when conducting sampling within a group. For this particular instance, both the production site and the additional port should be taken into account.

    4. A certificate shall be issued for the economic operator managing the production site.

Prior to the audit, I would request the coordinates of the areas from the auditees so that satellite image analysis can be conducted. Satellite images should be compared with the period before December 31, 2008, and the current area. Typically, the most common tools used are Sentinel or Landsat. In cases of small producer suppliers to industrial processors, the industry should support the small producer in implementing this indicator. Indicator 4.1.1

Verify if there are local regulations establishing additional limits on land conversion for agricultural or industrial purposes. If the deadlines are stricter than those established by the ProTerra Standard, the stricter ones should be considered.
Similarly to the previous indicator, in cases of small producers supplying industrial processors, the industry should support the small producer in implementing this indicator. Indicator 4.1.2

I would verify if the organization has developed a biodiversity management plan, aiming to identify, maintain, and protect biodiversity. The plan should be developed through the work of people knowledgeable in the subject, such as external specialists. Indicator 4.2.1

This indicator is linked to the previous indicator because it is necessary first for the organization to have identified rare, threatened, or endangered wildlife species on its lands. Subsequently, it is necessary to assess whether there are signs of species collection, whether they are fauna and/or flora. It is also evaluated whether the organization carries out any work to prohibit species collection, where often one of the tools is indication by signs that hunting and fishing are prohibited on the site. Species collection is only allowed if permitted by law, to ensure that these species continue to develop in their natural habitat as well as other species that normally depend on the collected/hunted or fished species. Indicator 4.2.2

I would verify with government agencies if there is a history of invasive species in the region currently and in the past. I would check with the organization how invasive species management is carried out and if there has been any notification to the authorities. Indicator 4.2.3

First, it is necessary to verify if there have been significant expansions or modifications in the organization. This is possible based on the analysis of volumes from previous years, reports from previous years describing activities, and also based on map analyses, it is possible to verify if there are new areas within the industrial or agricultural perimeter and their purpose. Based on the prior verification, it is necessary to verify if the organization has conducted a Social and Environmental Impact Assessment (SEIA) of its activities to identify potentially harmful or detrimental impacts and risks and how the treatments were defined. External specialists must participate in the development of this assessment. Regarding the SEIA, I would also verify how the organization mitigated the effects of the new expansion area. Indicator 4.3.1
