Webinar: The Importance of Sustainability Certifications in Agriculture
In today’s business landscape, sustainability has become a key factor for companies aiming to access international markets, comply with regulations, and strengthen their social and environmental responsibility. To support producers, companies and agricultural commodity buyers, we recently hosted a webinar featuring experts from ProTerra Foundation, SCS Global Services and Holland House Mexico.
During the session, Ana Langone from SCS Global Services explained what sustainable certification is, how companies can determine which standard best fits their needs, highlighted the ProTerra Standards as a solution for businesses, and described the role of certification bodies.
Benjamin Sandoval from the ProTerra Foundation presented how certification and verification can help to manage and mitigate supply chain risks. He introduced the ProTerra Network and provided details on the ProTerra Standard V5.0 and MRV Standard. He demonstrated that mitigating risks is an effective way to achieve sustainability.
Florencia Cantu from Holland House Mexico discussed export trends, challenges and requirements for fresh produce to Europe, providing an overview of the European market, highlighting opportunities for Mexican and Latin American products and outlining the necessary certifications to access the market.
