1. In Brazil, we have access to environmental platforms that can provide geospatial data from farm areas and lands. We also have lists of names involved in deforestation and government monitoring. All this data can be cross checked with the company plantation areas and/or list of 3rd party suppliers.
2. I think previous preparation is necessary for the auditor. Depending on the area, there is public information about defined conservation areas. In other cases, a study will have to be done or requested from the company.
3. According to HCSA criteria, only the last two should be considered for opening up to agricultural production. An assessment needs to be requested from the company. However, if an opening is identified, also check the possibilities for compensatory measures.
